Paul Edward Jekel, 78, of New Salisbury, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, June 9, 2019. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He was born on October 28, 1940 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late William and Elsie (Pitts) Jekel. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Morene (Huff) Jekel; daughter, Kim Baker (Mike); sons, Byron Jekel (Connie), Michael Jekel (Elizabeth); 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his funeral service and military honors taking place at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky.
Contributions in Paul's memory be made to Kindred Hospice (391 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
