Paul "Houston" Alvey, 71, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in New Albany, Indiana.
Houston was born on September 25, 1943 in Wax, Kentucky, to Hillard and Elizabeth Alvey. He enjoyed horse training, building homes, and spending time with his family.
Along with his parents, Houston was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Alvey. He is survived by his children; Christine Johnson (Doug), Captain Patrick Alvey (Tracy); siblings, Wilma Kuerzi, and Nelson Alvey; five grandchildren; Amber Thompson, Tyler Alvey, Dylan Johnson, Jordan Alvey, Megan Johnson, along with his first wife, Donna Wray.
A memorial visitation will be from 10-10:30AM on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Louisville Firefighters Union Hall # 345 (400 Bakers Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40215) with service to follow at 10:30AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to www.supportingheroes.org.
