Paul Robin Haeberlin, a devoted family man and dedicated craftsman, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, in Elizabeth, IN, with his beloved wife Karen by his side. Born on August 25, 1951, in Louisville, KY, Paul’s life was a testament to hard work, love, and enduring loyalty.
Paul graduated from Westport Road High School before pursuing further education at Western Kentucky University, laying the foundation for a life marked by determination and commitment. He worked diligently for years at LG&E as a blacksmith, where his craftsmanship and dedication stood as a reflection of his character. He also dedicated his time as a volunteer firefighter, bravely willing to serve his local community.
Family and friends knew Paul as a hardworking man, deeply devoted to those he loved. He was not only a loving husband but also a grandfather of three, a loyal brother-in-law, devoted uncle, cousin, and treasured friend. The pride he felt in watching his family grow and succeed was one of his greatest joys. His warm presence enriched the lives of many, and the memories he leaves behind will forever be cherished.
Paul had a rich tapestry of hobbies and interests that illustrated his vibrant personality. He enjoyed telling stories with a twinkle in his eye, found satisfaction working on his tractors, and took great pleasure in piddling around in his garage. Above all, he loved spending time with his nephews and family, savoring outings for good food, and sharing his life with his beloved dogs.
Paul’s journey was marked by the love of those who survive him: his devoted wife, Karen Haeberlin; sisters-in-laws Beverly Massey, Lisa (Robert) Abrams and Lisa Marie Hall Litherand (John); brothers-in-laws Frank Hall and Wayne (Kathy) McCollum; cousin Ann Short; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will carry forward his legacy of love and kindness.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ladd Haeberlin; his father, Stanley M. Haeberlin; his daughter, Brandie Souders; sister-in-law Kathy McCollum; and brother-in-law John Hall.
Paul Robin Haeberlin’s gentle spirit, unwavering dedication, and loving heart leave an indelible mark on all who knew him. As we remember his life, we celebrate the profound impact he made through his work, his stories, and, most importantly, his devotion to family and friends. His memory will resonate in the hearts of many for generations to come.
A memorial gathering will take place Sunday, June 14th, 2:00pm to 4:00pm, with a celebration of life to follow at 4:00pm, please contact the family for location details. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, Southern Indiana was entrusted with his arrangements.
