Paul Elsworth Mathews, 81, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Monday morning, August 29, 2016. He was a dedicated and loyal worker having retired from Brockway Plastics in Louisville, the New Albany–Floyd County School Corporation, and Wal-Mart in Clarksville.
He was born on December 17, 1934 to the late John. E. and Gayle E. (Jenkins) Mathews. Along with his parents, Paul was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Carlisle) Mathews; daughter, Rhonda Wilson; and siblings, Stanley and Bruce Mathews.
Paul is survived by his children, Tregg Mathews, Shannon Mathews, Roxanne Moore; step-sons, Dennis Trent (Kelly), Kenny Fulkerson; son-in-law, John Wilson; grandchildren, Trett Mathews, Trevor Mathews, Courtney Inman (Travis)Alicia Wilson, Chelsea Wilson; and great-grandsons, Ezra and Hunter.
Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM on Friday, September 2, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his Funeral Service taking place at 1 PM. Entombment will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
