Paul Arthur Bowe, Sr.

Paul Arthur Bowe, Sr., 87, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Paul was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy who served during the Korean War. He was the former owner and operator of the A-D Ice Company in New Albany, Indiana, and a retired bus driver for the New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, and traveling, where he visited 49 of the 50 states. Paul was a simple man who enjoyed being with his family. He enjoyed playing cards and dominos and following his grandchildren to many of their sporting events.

He was born on April 28, 1933, in Clark County, Indiana, to the late John and Dorothea (Zimmerman) Bowe. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by 7 of his siblings.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of almost 66 years, Carolyn Bowe; children, Teresa (Kevin) Lewis, Paul A. (Donna) Bowe, Jr., Timothy (Karen) Bowe, Brian (Dianne) Bowe, and Sandra (Christopher) Myers; grandchildren, Gary, Tracy, Michael, Ryan, Christopher, Paul, Lindsey, Logan, Emily, and Kiley; 6 great-grandchildren; 6 siblings; and many, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial and military honors to follow in the church cemetery.

The family requests that contributions in Paul's memory be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital or St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church.
