Paul Edward Atkins

Paul Edward Atkins, 85, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary of The Knobs Catholic Church. Paul was born on June 9th, 1940, to the late Frank and Olevia (Becht) Atkins, in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. He was one of seven children in a bustling household, including Marie Kathryn Stumler, Franklin Atkins, Joseph Atkins, and his younger siblings John Kenneth Atkins, Martha Missi, and Janet Schuler.

After graduating from Providence High School in Clarksville, Indiana, Paul went on to work for and retired from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. During his retirement, he worked for Key Electronics. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed going hunting, fishing, taking care of his family farm, and attending all of his grandchildren's activities.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Scott Atkins, and his beloved daughters, Tracey Stumler and Jenny Garing; five grandsons, Evan, Micah, William, Noah Stumler and Samuel Garing; two granddaughters, Olevia Garing and Kloe Garing; three great-granddaughters, Phoebe Stumler, Indiana Stumler, and Boston Stumler.

Paul unites in eternal rest with his father Frank Atkins, his mother Olevia Becht Atkins, and his beloved son Dr. Paul Anthony Atkins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29th, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Newcomer Cremations Funerals and Receptions, Southern Indiana Chapel, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana, 47150. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, May 30th, 10:00 am, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, 5719 St. Mary Rd, Floyds Knobs, Indiana 47119.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mary of The Knobs Catholic Church, Rising in Faith School Capital Campaign.
