Patty (Lawton) Mackell

Patty (Lawton) Mackell, 63, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Patty was born on February 11, 1953 in Warren, Pennsylvania to the late Fred and Mildred Lawton. It is there that she met her future husband, the late Joseph Mackell. She graduated from Pennsylvania University and then began a long career in Social Work helping others. Patty and Joe moved to Louisville over 30 years ago where they raised their beloved daughter, Sarah. She loved spending time with family, reading, listening to the Beatles and trivia. She had a keen sense of humor and loved her pet cat, Aurora.

Patty is survived by her daughter, Sarah Mackell (Chris); brother, Tom Lawton (Ann); and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Chapel (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243) with visitation from 5:00 pm until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
