With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patsy E Reccius (née Lynch), who left this world on June 27, 2026, after facing a long illness with characteristic grace and quiet strength. Patsy, affectionately known to many as "Pat," was born on October 11, 1936, in her beloved Louisville, Kentucky—a city that would remain central throughout her life’s journey.
Patsy’s life was a tapestry woven with kindness, family devotion, and an unwavering Christian faith. Growing up in a warm and close-knit family, Patsy was the cherished daughter of Earl and Dona Lynch, and shared her formative years with her sisters, Gail Mount and Rita Kavanaugh. She graduated from Charlestown High School, an early chapter that underscored her commitment to diligence and lifelong learning.
Patsy's career included her dedicated service as a Stock Transfer agent for the Bank of Louisville. Yet, it was in her role as a homemaker that Patsy’s true vocation shone brightest. With gentle hands and a giving heart, she made her home a sanctuary—one marked by love, laughter, and a deep sense of belonging for all who entered. Her joy came from putting others before herself, always seeking ways to make every event special through thoughtful planning and heartfelt touches.
Over the years, Patsy found happiness and companionship in marriage to Kenny Reccius, her beloved husband, who preceded her in death. Together, their greatest legacy was their family: Patsy took immense pride in her daughters Stacy Heckman and Susan Hart, and her sense of fulfillment only deepened as she enjoyed the lives of her grandchildren: Trenton Heckman, Lindsay Heckman, and Magnolia Hart. Each one can carry forward stories of her warm embraces, gentle guidance, and boundless affection.
To her surviving family—her cherished daughters Stacy Heckman and Susan Hart; her grandchildren Trenton, Lindsay, and Magnolia; her loving sister Gail Mount; and her devoted nephew and nieces, Matthew Mount, Lilly Mount, and Whitney Nall—Patsy was a wellspring of love, encouragement, and steady support. Her family, above all, was her proudest accomplishment, and she devoted herself wholly to nurturing those relationships.
Patsy’s spirit radiated quietly yet powerfully. Known for her gentle humor and soft-spoken kindness, she delighted in simple pleasures: keeping up with news and politics, skillfully arranging scrapbooks and crafting handmade cards that brightened many days. She especially relished her time spent cross stitching, a pastime that earned her a blue ribbon—an outward symbol of the care she poured into even the smallest detail. Her creativity, sense of occasion, and warm hospitality touched everyone lucky enough to be in her orbit.
Patsy’s generosity extended beyond her immediate family, as she never hesitated to put others first. Every gathering was imbued with her unmistakable touch—that special ability to turn ordinary days into extraordinary memories, all while remaining quietly in the background, selflessly ensuring everyone felt valued and loved. She so appreciated the generosity and support of her neighbors.
Patsy is now reunited with those who went before her: her husband Kenneth, her parents Earl and Dona, and her dear sister Rita. The bonds they shared in life are a testament to her enduring devotion.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and again on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243. Patsy will be laid to rest at a graveside service at Cave Hill Cemetery, 2395 Cave Hill Road, Louisville, KY 40204, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
As we say goodbye, we hold Patsy’s memory close—her gentle faith, her unwavering love, and the countless ways she made each of our lives a little brighter. Her legacy endures in her children, grandchildren, extended family, and the innumerable lives she touched with her kindness and care. She will be dearly missed, forever cherished, and always remembered.
