Patrick Craig Riley

Patrick Craig Riley, born on February 15, 1954, in Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home in Shelbyville, Kentucky, on December 12, 2024. He was a cherished member of his family and community, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

A graduate of Ballard High School and Bellarmine University, Patrick dedicated his life to personal and professional growth, inspiring those around him with his commitment to education and learning. His perseverance and dedication were evident in all that he pursued.

Patrick is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Karen Riley. He was a proud father to his children, Justin Puckett (Ashley), Zac Puckett, and Sophia Shaw (George). His role as a Pa Pa brought him immeasurable joy, as he embraced the opportunity to nurture and guide his grandchildren: Ashtin Puckett, Masen Shaw, Victoria Shaw, and Gabriella Shaw.

In addition to his immediate family, Patrick is also survived by his brother, Mark Riley (Jane), his long time friend, Kendrick Riggs, along with a niece and four nephews, who will carry forward his spirit of compassion and strength.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James McLivain Riley, Jr. and June Marie Hoehle Riley, and his brothers, James McLivain "Mike" Riley, III and his wife, Debbie, and Peter Kevin Riley. Their memories will forever be cherished within the hearts of those he leaves behind.

A graveside service will be held on December 27, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Simpsonville Masonic Cemetery, located in Simpsonville, Kentucky. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Patrick’s life and honor his legacy during this time. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff and nurses of Hosparus for their compassionate care for Patrick.
