Patrick A. Mcgarvey

Patrick A. McGarvey, 71, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019. Pat was a United States Navy veteran that proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a fan of classical music and also enjoyed playing guitar and traveling. Pat possessed a little bit of knowledge about everything. He had a love for the holidays, in particular Christmas, and loved to take his dog Lucy on walks.

He was born on October 19, 1947, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Robert and Alberta (Schiller) McGarvey. Along with his parents, Pat was also preceded in death by his siblings, Albert and Rose McGarvey.

Pat is survived by his wife, Christy (Hash) McGarvey; sons, Alan Stewart (Alecia), Lee Stewart (Elizabeth Sanders), and Benjamin Stewart (Stephene Brown); siblings, Mary Barbara McGarvey, Robert McGarvey (Teri), and Michael McGarvey (Nancy); granddaughters, Mady, Marcie, and MaKayla Stewart; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a celebration of Pat's life and military honors taking place at 7:00 p.m. Cremation will follow according to Pat's wishes and he will be laid to rest privately at Maple Grove Cemetery in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

The family requests that contributions in Pat's memory be made to J.B. Ogle Animal Shelter (201 Willinger Lane, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
