Patrick Edward Carney

October 9, 1937 — May 10, 2020

Patrick Edward Carney, 82, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2020. He attended Holy Trinity School and was a member of the first graduating class of Providence High School in 1955. In his younger years, Pat worked alongside his father at Carney Scrap Material. He was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church.

He was born on October 9, 1937, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Thomas Frank and Mildred Irene (Sigwald) Carney. Patrick was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Carney; brother, Eugene Carney; and brother-in-law, Charlie Staser.

Patrick is survived by his children, Patrick Carney (Kim) and Theresa Carney; sister, Mary Anne Staser; and grandchildren, Carl and Ann Marie Carney.

Services will be held privately, and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care. Patrick will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.

Contributions in Patrick's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
