Patrick Alexander Cardinale, Jr., a dedicated professional and passionate lover of film and music, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on January 8, 1975, in New York City, Patrick enriched the lives of those around him through his diverse talents and generous spirit.
Patrick’s educational journey began at Roy C. Ketcham High School, where he graduated in 1992, and later continued at Dutchess Community College, graduating in 2010. He cultivated a deep appreciation for film, traveling extensively throughout Europe as part of a film class—a testament to his commitment to learning and expanding his creative horizons.
Professionally, Patrick held notable roles including working for IHeart Radio and building an expansive career in retail. However, it was beyond his career that Patrick truly shone. His love for film and music was evident in his avid collecting, his extensive knowledge of pop culture, and his ventures into filmmaking. He was an editor and creator who made a couple of small movies, including a documentary about Super Storm Sandy, reflecting his ability to blend creativity with real-world events. He also had a passion for gaming and was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and family.
Patrick was deeply loved by his family, including his mother, Kathryn Cardinale; his brothers, Scott, Nicholas, and Marc Cardinale; and his nephew, Logan Cardinale. Also cherished in his family circle was Apollo, his faithful dog companion. He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick A Cardinale, Sr.
One of Patrick’s proudest legacies was his selfless decision to donate his organs to the Network for Hope, continuing his lifelong dedication to giving and helping others even in passing.
Friends, family, and all who knew Patrick are invited to honor his memory with a visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243, on March 29, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A Mass celebrating his life will be held on March 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Epiphany Catholic Church, 914 Old Harrods Creek Road, Louisville, KY 40223.
Patrick Alexander Cardinale, Jr.’s life was marked by creativity, kindness, and an unwavering willingness to support those around him. He leaves behind a rich legacy of artistic passion and generous spirit that will be remembered with great respect and affection.
To honor Patrick's legacy, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
