Patricia Doris Zeltner, age 86, passed away on June 18, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on October 7, 1939, in Nashville, Tennessee. Patricia (“Pat”) was born and raised in Nashville, where she spent most of her life near the home where she was raised. As her health began to decline, she relocated to Louisville, Kentucky, after selling her home in Mt. Juliet and settling into her final residence at Vitality Living St. Matthews. Although her stay there was brief, she found comfort in her surroundings and often remarked, “This place is me.”
Pat was raised alongside her siblings, Joyce Mingo (deceased), Donna Swafford, and Ronnie Fleming (deceased), all of whom she loved dearly. Throughout her life, she remained closely connected to her family, sharing in births, birthdays, holidays, and life’s many milestones. Growing up during the lingering effects of the Great Depression, times were often financially difficult for the family. Though they had few material possessions, her parents, Gladys Cecil (Kimbro) Fleming (“Mamma”) and Dorris Woodrow Fleming (“Papa,” nicknamed “Porter”), taught her the values of responsibility, perseverance, and hard work. Whenever Pat spoke of them, it was clear they meant the world to her.
At the age of 16, Pat married and later devoted herself to raising her children: Gray Louis Myers, Dwayne Curtis Myers (deceased), Brian Ronald Myers, Robin Patricia Johnson, and Wade Clifford Myers. She spent several years as a devoted homemaker, tending the family garden alongside her children. Together they raised vegetables and strawberries, which the children often sold to neighbors from little wagons. She also harvested apples from the backyard tree and lovingly transformed them into family-favorite treats. As her children entered school, Pat became a Patrol Mother and crossing guard at Donelson Elementary School and was actively involved in the Parent Teacher Association.
Later in life, following her divorce, Pat began a career at Nashville International Airport, working for Wackenhut for approximately 13 years, where she screened baggage and worked security checkpoints. During that time, she met Norman “Zeke” Zeltner, whom she adored and later married in 1989. She subsequently joined American Airlines, transporting passengers to regional aircraft, and later worked as a cashier at Lowe’s before retiring. Pat shared her life with Zeke until his passing in 2011.
Pat deeply loved her many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Each held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every opportunity to spend time with family. Pat will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her strong work ethic, her resilience through life’s challenges, and the warmth she brought to those fortunate enough to know her.
Pat’s remains will be cremated in Louisville, and her ashes will be returned to Nashville to be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Zeke. A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
