Patricia Sue(May) O'Brian

March 18, 1948 — April 29, 2016

Patricia Sue "Patsy" (May) O'Brian, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday morning, April 29, 2016. Patsy was born in a real log cabin in New Hope, Kentucky, and was raised on her grandfather Martin Coyle's farm until she was nine, then moved to Louisville, Kentucky. She attended St. Phillip Neri grade school and Presentation Academy. Patsy went to work for South Central Bell as a long distance operator until she was overcome by manic depression. She fought manic depression for many years, then later in life developed throat cancer, which spread to her lungs. Patsy was a descendant of William Penn and Robert E. Lee.

Patsy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Edward O'Brian; sister, Joyce Hazel, of Sellersburg, Indiana; sister-in-law, Sandy Worthman, of Decatur, Indiana; brother-in-law, Brian Worthman; and nephews, Tim Scott, Troy Hazel, and Todd Hazel.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) and from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society of Clark County (2702 Middle Road, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130).
