Patricia Ann Reid (Higgs), age 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 3, 2025. She was born on July 31, 1942, in Hickman, Kentucky, to the late Valtie Higgs and Hazel Hurt. Patricia was a homemaker whose quiet service reflected her deep faith. She faithfully cleaned the restrooms at Christ Apostolic Church, South Louisville Christian School, and Believers Church for over 15 years, a job she did with pride and dedication. Her true calling, however, was being a woman of faith and a prayer warrior. After receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost in her mid-30s, Patricia lived her life committed to Jesus Christ and raised her children to do the same. She could always be found in church whenever the doors were open. Toward the end of her life, Patricia faithfully attended Greater Life Apostolic Church. Known for her warm and gentle spirit, Patricia had a few daily joys that brought her comfort: her morning coffee, a good Whopper from Burger King, and sharing meals at Cracker Barrel with those she loved. Her life was a testimony to simple faith, unwavering love for her family, and enduring devotion to God. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Reid, Jr.; her step-father, Don Hurt; her brother, Edward Higgs; and her sisters, Donna Gregory and Dolores Hurt.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Patricia is survived by her three children, Mary Reid, Michael Reid (Tammy), and David Reid (Yolanda); eight beloved grandchildren, Jessica Gideons (Rick), Jennifer Davidson, Brandon Reid, Caleb Reid (Haley), Camden Reid, Caleigh Reid, Camille Reid, and Cadence Reid; and four precious great-grandchildren: Cameron Davidson, Chloe Davidson, Ricky Gideons, and Aaron Reid. She also leaves behind her sibling, Jerry Higgs, Holland Higgs, Ellis Higgs, Theresa Higgs, and Richard Hurt; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be 5 to 8pm on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 and on Wednesday, July 9th from 10am to 12pm followed by a celebration of Pat's life at 12pm, all at Greater Life Apostolic Church 114 N Beckley Station Rd., Louisville, KY 40245. Burial will follow in Floydsburg Cemetery, Crestwood, Kentucky.
