Patricia Lee (Joynt) Scott

Patricia Lee (Joynt) Scott passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 83. Patricia was born on December 28, 1941, in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania to Albert Simpson Joynt, Jr. and Dora Irene Winters. She was raised by her grandparents in neighboring Swissvale. She graduated from Swissvale High School in 1959, and a year later married John Oliver Scott. After moving a few times, Hartford, CT. and Dayton, OH., she has been a Louisville resident since 1977.

Patricia worked for the Carnegie Institute of Technology, NCR, and retired from Seven Counties Services in 2008. She liked sewing, cross-stitch, crossword puzzles and listening to country music, her favorite was George Strait, and going to the Do Drop Inn with friends. She also enjoyed time with family and friends, vacationing at Cape Cod, and watching true crime mysteries. Her favorite show was the original Hawaii Five-O.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Marjorie Frances Hood Scmidt, Nora Louise Winters Miller, and her beloved cat Sunshine. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn, sons John (Carolyn), James (Patricia) and William (Pamela), grandchildren Joshua and Emily, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Hosparus for the care and comfort for their loved one.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Newcomer, East Louisville Chapel, located at 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243. A service to celebrate Patricia's life will follow visitation at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Following the service, Patricia will be laid to rest at Louisville Memorial Gardens East, 11601 Ballardsville Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40241.

Memorial donations in Patricia's memory may be made to Alley Cat Advocates or the Animal Care Society.
