Patricia "Patty" Ann (Kennedy) Hutchinson, passed away on May 4, 2026. Born on June 25, 1940, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, Patty lived a life marked a devotion to her family, and a passion for creativity she nurtured from her youth until her final days.
From her early years, Patty displayed a remarkable artistic talent. As a high school student, she proudly became a member of the National Arts Society, an affiliation that underscored her lifelong dedication to creative expression. Throughout her life, Patty immersed herself in numerous artistic pursuits, including quilting, drawing and sketching, cross-stitch, and crocheting. These hobbies were not merely pastimes but reflections of her gentle spirit and her thoughtful, patient nature.
Patty's proudest accomplishments were rooted in her family, a testament to her warm heart and enduring love. She is survived by her two beloved sons, Robert "Bobby" Hutchinson, and his wife, Jennifer, and David Hutchinson, and his wife, Lori. Her surviving siblings include her sister, Sharon McCollum; and brother, Ronnie Kennedy. She was a cherished grandmother to six grandchildren: Corey Hutchinson, Megan Young, Justin Hutchinson, Sheila Hutchinson, Devon Brock, and Jesse Brock. In addition, Patty was blessed to witness the joys of great-grandmotherhood, with great-grandchildren Carson, KJ, Troyce, Aiden, and Grayson bringing light and laughter to her later years.
Preceding her in death were her devoted husband, Marion Hutchinson, with whom she shared many years; her parents, Charles Kennedy and Venie Dooley Kennedy; and her siblings, Charles "Buddy" Kennedy and Grace Clemmons.
Patty's life was a testament to the power of creativity and love, leaving behind a tapestry of memories treasured by all who knew her. She will be remembered with profound respect and affection by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
