Patricia Ann (Booker) Carruthers

Patricia Ann Booker was born on February 21, 1955, in New Albany, Indiana, to Benjamin and Anna Marie Booker. She was a member of the Jones Memorial AME Zion Church in New Albany, Indiana, and, as an adult, she also became a member of her sister's church, Lamb of God Healing Ministries. Patricia was educated in the New Albany public school system. After relocating to Los Angeles in 1985, she attended Casa Loma College and graduated with a degree in nursing. She was a dedicated licensed psychiatric nurse at San Fernando Community Hospital and also provided home health care for several different agencies. As a single parent to two children, Shawn, Sr., and Latonya Booker, she was a family-oriented, loving woman that went by many different names, such as Trishann, Tishann, Trish, Pat, Hollywood, Church, Memall, and Momma. Patricia's enjoyment was spending time with family, friends, and the love of her life, Mark Hickman. Patricia was fun, humorous, had a warm, giving heart, and prided herself on helping others. She was always inviting anyone to go to church with her. She left her impression on this world and will be missed tremendously.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Anna Marie Booker; sisters, Yvonne Brown, Ella Taylor, Betty, and Carrie Morgan; brothers, Ronald and Donald Morgan; and niece, Kimberly Booker.

Patricia leaves to cherish in her memory the love of her life, Mark Hickman; children, Shawn Booker, Sr. (Melissa), and LaTonya Booker; grandchildren, India Mozee (Terry, Sr.), Heaven, Shawn Booker, Jr., and Donovan Booker; great-grandchildren, Yasirah Mozee and Terry Mozee, Jr.; brothers, Benjamin Booker (Wanda), Charles Booker (Marsha), Derrick Booker (Teejan), Darrell Booker, and Kenny Booker (Lisa); sister, Anita Cousins (Victor); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Lamb of God Healing Ministries (8206 Old Hwy. 60, Sellersburg, IN 47172) with burial to follow at West Haven Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.
