Patricia Ann(Striegel) Schellenberg

Patricia Ann (Striegel) Schellenberg, 82, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Wedgewood Healthcare Center after an extended stay. Pat lived all of her life in Floyds Knobs and graduated from New Albany High School. She was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and was actively involved in Christian Mothers.

She loved gatherings, her flower gardens, sewing, cooking her favorite recipes, canning vegetables from the family garden and mailing greeting cards to family and church members. She spent many of her days supporting her children in sporting and musical events. Her later years included traveling and vacationing with her husband in their RV.

She enjoyed being a wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was cherished by all who were blessed to know and love her. Her smile and upbeat spirit brought joy and happiness to so many. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

She was born on March 29, 1933 in New Albany to the late Edward & Alma (Andres) Striegel. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Harold, David, Joe, and Steve Striegel; sister, Jane Hale; son, Danny Joe Schellenberg; infant daughter, Mary Jane Schellenberg; daughter-in-law, Carol (Gerringer) Schellenberg; grandchildren, Brandon Gerringer and Marci (Schellenberg) Goodman.

Pat is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Bob Schellenberg; children, Tom Schellenberg (Becky), Jerry Schellenberg (Stephanie), Alma Hammond (Danny), JoAnn Cunningham (Doug), Larry Schellenberg, John Schellenberg; brother, Eddie Striegel; sisters Mary Cestaro (Tony), Linda Walker (Mike); 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Wednesday after 9 AM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM onWednesday in the chapel at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs) with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Contributions in Patricia's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
