Pamela Kay King, a gentle and loving soul who touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026. Born on May 14, 1955, Pamela lived a life defined by unwavering kindness, selflessness, grace, and an extraordinary capacity to love. To know Pamela was to feel welcomed, comforted, and deeply cared for.
Above all else, Pamela’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was the heart of her family — a devoted mother, cherished grandmother “Grammy,” proud great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and loyal friend. Her love was unconditional, steady, and endlessly giving. She made every person around her feel important, safe, and deeply loved.
Pamela shared, especially treasured bonds with each of her grandchildren, each relationship, uniquely special and deeply cherished. One of Pamela's greatest joys was becoming a grandmother, a role made even more special when her first grandchild was born on her birthday.
Her legacy of warmth, compassion, and devotion will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those blessed to call her family and friend.
Pamela graduated from Western High School in Louisville, Kentucky, and continued her education at the University of Louisville, specializing in medical billing and coding. She dedicated 29 years of service to University Emergency Medicine, where she became a valued and respected member of the team. During her career, she formed many lifelong friendships and was admired for her gentle spirit, dedication, wisdom, and caring nature.
Pamela had a rare gift for making others feel loved and cared for. She was patient, generous, compassionate, and endlessly supportive. Whether she was attending sporting events and extracurricular activities, planning family vacations, hosting gatherings, or simply spending time with the people she loved most, Pamela found her greatest happiness in creating memories with her family. For more than fifty years, she faithfully showed up for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren — celebrating their accomplishments, comforting them through hardships, and loving them wholeheartedly through every season of life.
A devoted woman of faith, Pamela found strength, comfort, and peace through Bible studies, prayer, and regular church attendance. Her faith guided the way she lived — with humility, gentleness, compassion, and love for others.
Pamela is survived by her three loving children: Nikki Cassady Waits, Chris Cassady, and Brittany (Greg) Weis; her 10 beloved grandchildren: Morgan, Kayla, Cassady (Anton), McKenzie (Ryan), Logan, Shelby, Addison, Emmett, Willie, and Kendra (Tyler); and her seven precious great-grandchildren: Zavier, Myla, Annabeth, Rylan, Porter, Ryker, and Cameron. She is also survived by her brother, David King (Carol), and her sister, Connie Compton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Delma King, and her brother-in-law, Gary Compton.
Visitation to honor Pamela’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Southeast Christian Church. Her funeral service will immediately follow from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
