Oscar Landy Plyman

Oscar "John" Landy Plyman, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home after a short illness on Friday, October 27, 2017.

John was born August 14, 1927. He was a farm hand as a young adult and later retired from University of Louisville.  He was a member of Middletown Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and working with his flowers.  John never met a stranger and enjoyed his friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by caregiver James Allen Riddle, Sr.; and his parents, Oscar Landry Plyman, Sr. of Charlestown IN. and Minnie Hildebrand of Louisville KY.

John is survived by caregiver Sue Riddle and her sons James, Jeff and Joey, their wives, children and grandchildren; and many friends.

John will be missed by his friends and family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 4-8pm and on Tuesday, October 31st after 9:30am until a celebration of John's life at 1pm, all to be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 235 Juneau Drive in (Middletown) Louisville, KY. Burial will follow at Middletown Historic Cemetery, Old Harrods Creek Road in Middletown.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be donated to the Middletown Fire Department Crusade for Children in his honor.
