Stibbins, Oretha "LaVerne", 89, of Louisville, KY passed away on February 23, 2016. She was a member of South Jefferson Baptist Church.
LaVerne was born on November 25, 1926, in Bullitt County, KY to the late Noah and Bessie Stibbins. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Helen Reader, Donaline Gooch, Everett Stibbins and Lorraine Beld.
She is survived by her brother, Kenneth L. Stibbins; nieces, Brenda Murray (Lynn), Michelle McCarger (Kevin), Bonnie Kirk, Janet Mills (Rick), Marie Rains (Todd); nephews, Tom Gooch (Becky) and Tim Gooch (Leeann); and many loving great nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home-Southwest (10304 Dixie Hwy, Lou, KY 40272), with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be held at Bethany Cemetery.
In loving memory of LaVerne, memorial donations may be made to South Jefferson Baptist Church.
