Opal L. "Doris" Sickles, 86, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday March 13, 2022.
She was born on February 15, 1936 in Campbellsville, Kentucky to Ralph and Carrie (Redman) Smith, Sr. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Douglas Sickles and her brother, Donald K. Smith.
Opal is survived by her loving daughters, Valerie J. Sickles, Vonda K. Sickles and Vivian L. Overstreet, grandchildren, Vontreal M. Sickles and DeJon L. Sickles, brother, Ralph E. (Barbara Jean) Smith, Jr., her aunt, Yvonne Williams, and a host of other relatives.
A memorial gathering will be held from 12-3pm on Saturday, March 26th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy).
The family requests that contributions in Opal's memory be made to The Norton Children's Hospital Foundation.
