Novella Faith “Bobbi” Conrad, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday March 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She had undergone an extended hospital stay, due to complications from Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD).
Bobbi grew up in Louisville and graduated from Seneca High School in 1964. Hers was an adventurous, close-knit family, and in the early 70s, Bobbi and her husband and daughters, accompanied by her parents and sister, all moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where they lived together until 1980, when they all moved back to Louisville. In 1974, Bobbi graduated from nursing school and began a 36-year career in healthcare. Along the way, she somehow found time to launch a few entrepreneurial ventures that always included her family and have left us with great stories. Bobbi will be remembered for her faith in God, which she shared with her daughters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She even fulfilled a lifelong dream of going to the Holy Land when she took a trip there alone with a tour group in 2004. As much as Bobbi loved the Lord, her biggest passion in life may have been her family, whom she adored and visited at every opportunity. Once she and Barry moved into the house on Carey Avenue, she goaded Barry (and her brother-in-law Jerome) into putting in a big pool, surrounded by an even bigger deck, which served as the social hub for the family most weekends every summer. Bobbi’s grandchildren all agree that “Maw” was their biggest fan, and it’s her unconditional love and tireless devotion that will be missed the most.
Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ann Bowman; her husband, Barry Conrad; and her nephew, Mack Smyser.
Bobbi is survived by her daughters, whom she cherished, Angell Slucher (Scott), Rachel Finley (Jim), and Daphne Evers (Robert). Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren, Logan Smyrichinsky, Hadley Slucher (Michael), Maverick Smyrichinsky (Maryli), Hank Evers, Daisy Slucher (E. Noel), Mia Evers, and Avery Slucher; and by one great-grandchild, Sage Smyrichinsky. This list would not be complete without Bobbi’s beloved extended family. Bobbi is also survived by her sister Idella “Punkin” Smyser (Jerome); along with her nieces and nephews, Mattie Fuhrman (Brian, Levi & Lochlan) and Montana Smyser (Savannah, Brenton & Camden). Bobbi also leaves behind friends and co-workers who have become like family through the years.
Cremation was chosen. Bobbi’s memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday March 14th, 2026, at Northeast Christian Church, at 9900 Brownsboro Road, Louisville, KY 40241. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service time at 1:00 pm.
