Norman Clarence Dooley, Jr.

Norman Clarence Dooley Jr., 97, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on September 18, 2026. A proud veteran, Norman served in both the United States Army and Navy. He spent his career as a skilled machinist at Tube Turns and was a devoted member of Cornerstone First Church in Jeffersonville. His passion for car racing and talent for tinkering with various projects were well known.

Born on May 14, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, to Norman Sr. and Eva (Sink) Dooley, Norman was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna Mae; his sons, James "Jim" and Norman "Mike" Dooley; and his sister, Nettie Bender ("Butch").

He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Barbara Calfee; daughters-in-law, Lonetta and Theresa Dooley; grandchildren, Darian Dooley (Samantha), Jennifer Stettenbenz (Ryan), Garrett Dooley, Dawson Dooley (Madisyn); and great-grandchildren, Cole, Nolan, Tessa, Morgan, Berkley Mae, and Truett James.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions in New Albany, continuing on Friday after 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home, with burial and military honors at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Norman's memory may be made to Cornerstone First Church (128 Harrison Avenue, Jeffersonville, IN  47130).
