Norma Jean (Gammons) Thompson Schultz passed into the arms of her creator at 4:15 on Saturday, February 12th, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 18, 1932 to the late Mr. Chester E Gammons and Mrs. Lillian Mae Kelly (Gammons). Norma loved animals and raised AKC Registered Poodles, she also adopted various other pets. She was a caring foster parent for many years. Norma was a typical southern homemaker, who kept a comfortable home and was a great cook. She also loved her flowers and gardening.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon R. "Bob" Thompson; second husband, James R. Schultz; sister, Elsie Mae Stafford (Jimmy); and her parents.
She is survived by her children, Michael M. Thompson (Deborah), Letty Diana (Thompson) Newton Baird (Bud), and Scott F. Schultz (Timmie) ; grandsons, Joshua Robert Thompson (Stacey), Beau Nicholas Newton, and Noah Schultz; granddaughters, Samantha Schultz and Lily Schultz; great grandchildren, Jack Elliot Thompson; Maxwell Ryan Thompson, Landry Quinn Thompson, and Hadley Joy Newton.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). A funeral ceremony will be held the following day at 11:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
