Norma Jean (Snelling) Means, 79, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019. She was a faithful member of Cherry Street Church of Christ in New Albany where she was a teacher in the ladies Sunday school class. Jean also volunteered for Priscilla's Place (Teen Challenge of Kentucky) for 14 years.
She was born on August 15, 1939, in Clark County, Indiana, to the late Hubert and Carrie (Owen) Snelling. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her 3 brothers.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Duval Means; daughters, Melanie Adams (Jeff), Cindy Couch (Perry), and Angie Martin (Rick); grandchildren, Justin Adams (Misty), Ben Adams (Andi), Jonathan Adams (Mariah), Will Adams (Lindsay), Mike Adams (Maria), Kira Lindsey (Jon), Sam Couch, Noah Martin, and Katie Martin; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Cherry Street Church of Christ (302 Cherry Street, New Albany) with additional visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
