Norma Dee (Chandler) Davenport McDonald, 75, of Clarksville, IN passed away on January 7, 2017. Norma traveled around the world and especially loved the beach and Caribbean Islands. She was an avid animal lover and cared for numerous animals throughout her lifetime. Closest to her heart was her dear African Gray Parrot, Sinbad. She studied astrology, metaphysics, and was a talented Tarot card reader. Her spirituality was an intregal part of her life and she was very active within the interfaith community. She shared her love with the world on numerous Christian mission trips.
Norma was born on April 18, 1941 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late Edward Earl Chandler & Lorena (Dierking) Chandler Leppert. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Davenport; husband, Mike McDonald; and brother, Glenn Chandler.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Horneman (Russ) and Cindy Humbert (James); sisters, Lois Harlow, Vicki Everbach (Wayne), and Wanda Karia (Peter); grandchildren, Leslie Brooks (Adam), James "Lance" Humbert, Audrey Keegan, and Joseph Horneman (Kayla); great grandchildren, Addison & Genevieve; and her African Gray Parrot, Sinbad.
A Memorial Visitation will be on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 3 PM to 7 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Interfaith Paths to Peace (2500 Montgomery Street, Louisville, KY, 40212) or New Albany Floyd County Humane Society (215 W Market Street, New Albany, IN 47150).
