Norma Maedene McDowell Figg, 91, passed away on December 12, 2017, surrounded by her family.
Norma was a member of the Huntington Park Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. During World War II , she serviced airplanes for Curtiss-Wright while her future husband served in the Navy. She created a loving home for their five children and was actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Throughout her life, she always strived to look for ways to help others or to make them feel special. Her capacity for hard work was matched only by her warm and generous heart. Norma was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years, Walter P. Figg, Jr.
"She watches over the activity of her household, and the bread of laziness she does not eat. Her children rise up and declare her happy; her husband rises up and praises her. There are many capable women, but you-you surpass them all" (Proverbs31: 27-29).
Norma is survived by her sister, Emily Neville; her children, Walter III, Jennifer(Charles), Mary, Carla, and Bryan (Lisa); her seven grandchildren, Steven (Marie), Whitney (Peter), Ashleigh (Guy), Sarah, Zachary (Lynette), Hannah and Emma; and her two great-granddaughters, Camilla and Olympia.
