Norma Vessels Eakle, 84, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Norton Hosparus in Louisville.
She was born on August 6, 1934 in Louisville to Oswald Kincheloe (OK) and Louise Kruse Vessels. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Stephen G. Eakle; a stillborn son, John C. Eakle; siblings: Virginia Vessels, SCN; Kenneth Vessels; and Janet Sanders.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Glen Eakle; daughters Pamela Schmit, Nancy Reynolds (Richard), and Mary Beth Schmidt; grandchildren: Emily, Nicholas (Yanitza), Patrick, Sarah (Luke), Hannah, Joseph, and Adam; one great-grandchild: Charissa; Steve Schmidt; and a sister, Jean Vessels, SCN.
Visitation will be Friday, September 21 from 4-8 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions-Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway Louisville, KY 40272. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22 at Mary Queen of Peace (formerly St. Helen) Church, 4005 Dixie Highway, with interment in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Mass of the Air or Hosparus of Louisville.
