Nicholas Charles "Nick" Lenfert, 69, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025. Born on March 29, 1956, in New Albany, Indiana, to Charles and Mary Ann (Miller) Lenfert, Nick dedicated much of his life to serving others. His commitment to service was evident through his time in both the United States Army and the Indiana National Guard, where he exemplified the values of duty and sacrifice.

Nick's professional life was marked by a successful career in real estate, reflecting his determination to provide the best possible life for his family. His work ethic and selfless nature earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike, while leaving behind a legacy of generosity and kindness.

A valued member of the community, Nick was also affiliated with the Knights of Columbus JFK Council 1348 in Jeffersonville, where he made many lasting friendships and contributed to the organization’s mission.

In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by his wife, Janice (Simms) Lenfert. He is remembered by his children: Nicole Sharp (Jason), Kelley Martin (Sean), Craig Pangburn (Julie Deason), and Scott Lenfert. Nick is also survived by his brothers: Steve (Myra), Thomas (Lisa), and Henry (Margaret) Lenfert. He cherished his 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will greatly miss him.

Nick’s wish was to be cremated. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (316 N. Sherwood Avenue, Clarksville). He will be laid to rest privately alongside his wife at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.

Contributions in Nick's memory may be made to Hosparus - the Community Hospice of Southern Indiana (502 Hausfeldt Lane, New Albany, IN 47150).
