Naomi Lucille (Chaney) Howell

Naomi Lucille (Chaney) Howell, 83, caring and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Friday evening, April 20, 2018. Lucy enjoyed traveling to Florida, spending time on the beach and with her family.

She was born on December 16, 1934, in Fisherville, Kentucky, to the late Harold Chaney and Ruby (Clark) Zorn. Lucy was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Howell; and sister, Edna Fetzer.

Lucy is survived by her children, Bob Howell (Nancy), Gary Howell (Francine), Ron Howell (Kathy), Brenda Miller (John), and Rick Howell (Liz); sisters, Martha Zorn and Cathy Seewer (Jim); grandchildren, John Eric, Tara Miller (Mark), Ryan (Natalie), Billy (Jacque), Zane (Kacie), Scott, Cory (Jen), Brad, Leslie, Brooks, and Landon Howell; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen following Lucy's wishes. A reception of family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Wednesday after 11:00 a.m. Her Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the chapel at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Lucy's memory be made to Hosparus – the Community Hospice of Southern Indiana (502 Hausfeldt Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150).
