Nancy Gluck Windler

Nancy Gluck Windler, age 69, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Nancy was born on May 3, 1956, in Benham, Kentucky, to Joe R. Gluck, Jr. and Laura Johnson Creech Gluck.

Nancy was married to Roy Joseph Windler of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and they would have celebrated 25 years of marriage on July 20, 2026. She was a devoted wife to R.J. and a loving stepmother to Jamie Windler (deceased) and Jared Windler of Des Plaines, Illinois.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Laura Johnson Creech Gluck and Joseph Robert Gluck, Jr.; her brother, John Gregory Gluck; and her stepson, Jamie Windler.

She is survived by her loving husband, Roy Joseph Windler of Jeffersonville, Indiana; her stepson, Jared Windler; her brother, Jody Gluck; her sister-in-law, Becky Craiger Gluck; her niece, Cathy (Doug) Cummins; her nephew, Jay (Nikki) Gluck; her niece, Loreyn (Joe) Eldridge; and her nephew, Greg Gluck, Jr. A host of wonderful cousins, great-nieces and nephews, dear classmates, and lifelong friends also survive Nancy.

Nancy was known for her big, beautiful smile, her fun-loving spirit, and her deep curiosity about the world around her. She loved to travel and cherished the many trips and adventures she shared with her husband, R.J., and her friends throughout the years. Nancy loved people-especially listening to their stories. She truly cared about a person’s journey and always made you feel heard, loved, and important.

She had a deep appreciation for the arts and loved listening to old tunes, including the Rolling Stones. A teenager of the 1970s, Nancy carried her love of that era’s music throughout her life. She also loved art, good books, and had a natural flair for fashion.

Nancy loved the color green-every shade of it. She adored fairy tales like Peter Pan and stories of Emerald City, and she delighted in collecting fairy figurines for her garden. These things felt magical to Nancy, reflecting her curiosity about the unseen and the wonder beyond what we experience with our human eyes. She took great pride in her flower garden and put care and love into everything she cultivated. Nancy had a strong faith and a beautiful imagination to match her kind and loving heart.

Nancy also had the heart of a curious and carefree child, which is why children were naturally drawn to her. She knew how to have fun-and it showed. She made countless cherished memories with her stepsons, nieces, and nephews as they were growing up. She passed down traditions like decorating beautiful sugar cookies at Christmas, trying new recipes for snacks while playing cards, and telling hilarious stories of past shenanigans. And truly-she was the queen of shenanigans.

Nancy dearly loved animals. Dezzie, her Boston Terrier, was her devoted companion for many years. Before Dezzie, there was Truman, who made regular visits with Nancy to the nursing home to love on the residents. And before Truman, there were many beloved animals throughout the years, each holding a special place in Nancy’s heart. She loved everyone’s animals-not just her own.

All of these things reflect who Nancy Gluck Windler was-a woman who devoted her heart and soul to family, friendship, memory-making, and the gifts of laughter and kindness. Though we grieve, we do so with hope, trusting God’s promises.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 1:00PM-3:30PM at St Marks United Church-Christ (222 E Spring St, New Albany, IN 47150) with service to follow at 3:30PM. A meal will to follow service in the fellowship hall at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation in Nancy's memory to St Marks United Church-Christ or Gilda's Club.
