Nancy (Campodonico) Mcintyre

March 18, 1932 — October 14, 2016

Nancy (Campodonico) McIntyre died on October 14, 2016 at the age of 84. The child of an Irish mother and an Italian father, she grew up in Pensacola, FL, where she lived her early life with her parents and sister, Margie. In high school, she was the state baton twirling champion of Florida for two consecutive years.

She married shortly after her graduation in 1950, had three daughters, divorced, and then married John McIntyre of Louisville Kentucky in 1960. The couple had a son together, and their marriage endured until John died after a long illness on September 2, 2016.

Few people who ever met Nancy ever will forget her. She was extremely charismatic, had a great sense of humor, was an amazing cook, and loved all kinds of animals. But the world trembled if you ever got on the wrong side of her.

After her children grew up, she began breeding Persian cats, taking them to competitive shows all across the country. In 1992, her black Persian, Baxter, won the Cat Fancier's "Altered Cat of the Year" award.

She is survived by her children Lynn Clark, Gloria Westerfield (Robert Ray), Nancy Kennedy (Robert), and John Thomas McIntyre, Jr. (Jane); her brother-in law Jeff A. McIntyre, Jr. (Pat), and her "youngest child" Therio, a cat who gave her much love and comfort during her final years. She also is survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
