Nancy Jean Downs, 71, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.
She was born on April 10, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to Giadona and Minnie (Stone) Mayfield. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Frank Mayfield and his wife Jenny, and her brother, Bob Mayfield with his wife Marilyn who is still living.
Nancy's passion was her family; she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and siblings. Also in her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, her suduko puzzles, and playing bingo. Nancy's family and friends will also remember how she loved telling stories and her great sense of humor.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Joseph K. "Kenny" Downs, daughters,Tammy (Jesse) Downs and Kerry (Bo) Paxton, grandchildren, Corey (Sarah) Downs, Jacob Paxton, Shawn Paxton, Savannah Maupin, Macie Paxton, great grandchildren, Cambrynn Downs and Braelynn Downs, siblings, Linda (Dan) Pickard, Brenda (Tony - deceased) Sivori, Barbara (Ron) Baken, Kenneth (Evonne) Mayfield, William (Ruthie) Mayfield, Thomas (Rose) Mayfield, and Dan (Deloris) Mayfield, Jr..
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.
