Life Reflections
Born March 6, 1961, Nancy Marie Bates came into this world by faith. She was the baby girl of three daughters born to Ellis and Madeline Bates in Los Angeles, California. Nancy's parents and elder sister, Barbara Anne, preceded her in death.
Raised in a Catholic home, Nancy accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Saint Agatha Catholic School from first to eighth grade. She then attended Bishop Conaty Catholic all girls high school from the ninth to the twelfth grade. After graduating from high school, Nancy attended Los Angeles Community College where she studied Modern Dance and developed her curvy body and shapely thick legs. Soon after, Nancy gave birth to her oldest daughter, Mallory and moved to Compton California with her oldest sister, Pamela. Nancy continued her education and attended Compton Community College, where she received a certificate in Child Development and later worked at Wonderland Child Care Center. While working at Wonderland, Nancy gave birth to her baby daughter, Madeline. Following her employment at Wonderland, Nancy worked at Walmart in Lakewood, California as a Cashier.
Nancy became sick in 2001 and started Kidney dialysis. Nancy continued to work at Walmart with her illness until she could no longer work. In 2006, she relocated to Louisville, Kentucky to join her sister Pamela, nieces, and nephews. Nancy's health started failing her in March 2016, following a surgery related to complications of dialysis. She was in and out of the hospital but Nancy continued to fight.
On December 24, 2016 at 3:04pm, our Lord called Nancy home.
Nancy leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, Mallory and Madeline; two grandchildren, Jaden and Taliyah; oldest sister, Pamela; nieces, Ellisa, Melanae, Megan, Johnniece, and Tamia; nephews, Ellis (wife Tara) and Michael; great nieces, Heavenlee, Skye, and Ealyn; great nephews, Ashton, CJ, Kareem, and Michael JR; and a host of cousins, extended family, and many friends in Los Angeles, California.
