Nan Jean (Smeltzer) Sandlin, 87, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 23, 2015 at her home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her seven children were her pride and joy.
She was born on May 16, 1928 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Roscoe and Florence (Hagerman) Smeltzer. Nan was also preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Johnson, and second husband of 54 years, Cecil Sandlin; and recently by her granddaughter, Summer Daub.
Nan is survived by her children, Joe Johnson (Barbara), Kathy Wagner (Joe), Gail Suell, Mike Sandlin (Kim), Debbie Daub (Dan), Cherri Sandlin, Cris Sandlin (Anna); 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12 PM to 8 PM on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and after 9 AM on Saturday. Her Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM on Saturday in the chapel at the funeral home with cremation to follow according to Nan's wishes.
