Listen to Obituary

Myrna Sue Fitzgerald, 80, passed away on February 17, 2026. She was born on October 12, 1945, in Paoli, Indiana, to Fred and Joy Stone. She came from a large family, being roughly in the middle of five brothers and one sister, and was very close to her parents and siblings, who called her Susie. Love of family was an essential part of who Myrna was. At age 18, she married Carl Cart Sr., and then had three sons of her own. Later in life she was married again to Brian Fitzgerald, and she finally got the daughter she always wanted. She worked as an office manager for Realm Construction Co. until she retired.

She is survived by her brothers, Jim and Shannon; and her step-brother, Mark; and her three sons, and their wives; Ray and Jennifer, Jeromy and Kelly, and Tom and Jennifer; and her daughter, Lee Ann and her husband, Josh. She had eight grandchildren, Amber and Josh, Marissa and Austin, and Andrew, Haleigh, Kailynn and Harper; and two great-grandchildren, Hensley and Huxton, and one more on the way. Myrna's greatest love in life was her grandchildren, and she was the embodiment of love, warmth and sweetness, and everything that makes a mother precious to her children and grand children.

She loved gardening and antiques, the ocean, and cats and small dogs. Words utterly fail to express how much she will be missed.

Cremation was chosen following Myrna's wishes.
