Myrna Mae Drowns, 82, peacefully passed away on the 12th of September 2021 at her home in Taylosville, Kentucky. Her remains will be buried alongside her beloved husband, Arvis William Drowns, in Rose Hills Cemetery, Whittier, CA.
Mrs. Drowns was born on the 12th of January, 1939, in Three Points, Kentucky to William and Edith Horton. She married Arvis Drowns on February 14, 1959. She is survived by Kevin Edward Drowns son), Joy Beth Henry (daughter), Richard Henry (son-in-law), William Arvis Drowns (son), Jennievieve Drowns (daughter-in-law) and niece, Kelley Schultz. She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren Brandon Edward Drowns, Conor Devin Henry, Rowan Elise Drowns and Great Grandchild, Lily Drowns. As a child she overcame polio and was adopted by Don and Joy Taylor. As the middle child, and last survivor of five siblings, whom include Barbara Horton, William Horton, Steve Horton and Bettie Lewis, she was a proud member of Spencer County Seniors, a long time employee in acquisitions at California State University, Los Angeles library and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. In her spare time she enjoyed playing piano, gardening, reading and singing.
Mryna was a kind soul who met life's challenges with dignity and gusto. She overcame many obstacles that were presented to her and did so with grace. She would kindly want those who loved her to reflect on the hymn "I Come to the Garden Alone." Her smile and laugh will be forever missed.
