Morgan Delano Hearn

March 5, 1938 — June 12, 2017

Morgan Delano Hearn, 79, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017. He retired from the maintenance department for the New Albany Housing Authority. Morgan enjoyed shooting pool and bowling and was an avid UK Wildcats and Indianapolis Colts fan. His number one passion was always his loving family.

Morgan was born on March 5, 1938, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Ellison and Frances "Fannie" (Morgan) Hearn. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Ray-Rice; and sister, Sarah Ruth King.

Morgan is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Charlotte A. (Grant) Hearn; children, Richard Evans, Robert and Michael (Maudie) Ray, Sheila Dockery (Stacy Goggins), Stephanie Flores (Mike), Kimberly Hearn, and Monica Sutton (Mark); siblings, Ellison J. Hearn, Sr., Mary Alice Moody, and William Hearn, Sr. (Eva); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Going-Home Celebration will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at West Haven Cemetery.
