Monica Lee Nilest

Monica Lee Nilest, 54, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on May 6, 2025. 

She was born on October 12, 1970 in Louisville to John and Donna Gaddie. Monica loved sports, especially Kentucky basketball and football, and NASCAR. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren, who she loved dearly. 

Monica is preceded in death by her granny, Catherine Gray; aunt, Joyce Rife; and her cousin, Tina Davidson. 

She is survived by her children, Brandon Meredith (Megan); Makalia Caporale (Mike); Marisa Brackob (Jon); Meghan Nilest (Ethan Warren); grandchildren, Carson Scott Brackob, Kai Caporale, Daisy Gayle Meredith, and Gracie Jo Meredith; her parents, John and Donna Gaddie; sister, Jada Carlton (Danny); brother, Eddie Gaddie (Christi); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. 

Visitation will be on Monday, May 12th, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243. A memorial service for Monica will take place that evening at 5:30 pm at the funeral home.
