Milly Yankey, 90, of Jeffersontown, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021.

She was born on October 5, 1931 in Louisville, Kentucky. Milly was a graduate of Western Kentucky University and received her masters degree from Spalding College. She was an elementary school teacher and librarian in Jefferson County for more than 30 years. Milly was an active member of Jeffersontown Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Yankey and her sister, Doris Badgett.

Milly is survived by her daughter, Pam Cheek; son, Harold Yankey (Krista); grandchildren, Brian Cheek (Stephanie), Amy Poe (Nick), Forrest Yankey, and Harper Yankey (Marah); and great grandchildren, Anna, Avery, Abigail, and Stephen.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions-East Louisville Chapel, (235 Juneau Dr.). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington.

The family requests that contributions in Mildred's memory be made to Jeffersontown Baptist Church.
