Mildred Laverne Norrington

Mildred Laverne "Millie" (Atkins) Norrington, 89, of New Albany, Indiana passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2017. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Millie enjoyed crocheting, doing macramé, and visiting the casino to play the slots.

Millie was born on December 2, 1927 in Louisville, KY to the late Hubert and Lillian (Duncan) Atkins. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William E. Norrington; and siblings, Jessie French and Doris, Virgil, Earl, and Robert Atkins.

She is survived by her children, William (Carolyn), Terry, and Gary (Anita) Norrington; two grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren; and brother, Ray Atkins (Mary Jane).

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
