Mildred Frances (Spears) Dye, 78, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019. She attended Northside Christian Church and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Millie was a retired school bus driver for Jefferson County Public Schools and also North Harrison School Corporation. She loved animals and was fond of her rescue companion, Bon Bon.
She was born on February 20, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Raymond and Christine (Frances) Spears. Millie was also preceded in death by her son, Timothy Dye; and siblings, Donald, Robert and Doris Spears.
Millie is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James Dye; children, Julie Dye, James Dye, Jr. (Tricia); sister, Mary Ann Nevitt (Junior); grandchildren, Adam Dye (Tara), Alex Dye (Keziah), Dylan Sapp (Chelsea), Taylor Sapp (JoAnna), Bailey Creighton; and great-grandchildren, Avery, Triston, Raegan and Barrett.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9:00 a.m. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at South Jefferson Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
