Mildred Maxzine (Helbig) Ballard

Mildred Maxzine (Helbig) Ballard, 83, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025. A cherished member of her community, she was a longtime member of Calvary Apostolic Church in Jeffersonville, where she found spiritual nourishment and the ability to strengthen her faith.

Born on March 22, 1942, in Clark County, Indiana, Mildred was the daughter of Henry and Emmer (Simmons) Helbig. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Ballard; her siblings: George Helbig, Roberta Kindel, Elnora Taylor, Thomas Pennington, Donald Helbig, Henry James Helbig and Helen Smith.

She is survived by her brother, Clifford Helbig (Eva), her sister, Virginia Sanders, and her sister-in-law, Henrietta Heim. Additionally, she leaves behind a legacy of love through numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.

Mildred's visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. Following the visitation, her funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m., concluding with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
