Mikel Todd Kennedy, 28, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018. He was a member of Cove Baptist Church and a 2008 graduate of New Albany High School. Mikel loved music, playing video games, posting on his YouTube channel as "Gimpin'-ain't-easy", and cheering on the UofL Cardinals.
He was born on October 17, 1989, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Paula "Gail" (Evans) Kennedy and the late Christopher M. Kennedy. Along with his father, Mikel was preceded in death by brother, Nicholas Kennedy; and grandparents, J.D. and Jewell Evans and Beverly Kennedy.
Along with his mother, Mikel is survived by his brothers, Matthew Higdon and Christopher (Ann-Marie) and Chad Kennedy; grandfather, Jim Kennedy (Barbara); Tim Hensley; nieces, Jaelyn, Ellie, Emma, Zoe, and Amelia Kennedy; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 8, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2018, in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the family in care of Gail Kennedy for help with Mikel's final expenses.
