Listen to Obituary

Mike Armstrong was welcomed into Heaven on Saturday, November 22, 2025 after passing away unexpectedly in Georgetown, KY, greeted by his parents, brothers, sisters, family and friends who passed before him, as well as a few very excited dogs that greeted him with lots of kisses. The world, as we know it, may have become a whole lot dimmer with his passing but the laughter he ignited across the country will echo for generations.

For over 30 years, Mike graced stages, to entertain all with his quick wit, infectious laughter that could easily be heard in any circumstance and his phenomenal ability for improv and operational comedy, while always keeping his jokes clean so that one would never have to worry about covering the kids or grandma’s ears. Comics, bookers and venue owners nationwide all share legendary tales of Mike’s practical jokes and backstage antics, that no one was safe from and would leave Mike laughing hilariously. A man of a strong, Catholic faith, if Mike liked you, he would tell you that he will sponsor your place in heaven and that he’d be waiting on a park bench for you. We have no doubt he is already pitching a show and pulling jokes on the powers to be in Heaven.

Despite the national successes he achieved, within seconds of starting any conversation with Mike, you knew his wife and family were his number one priority to him and he spent all his time being an incredible and loving caregiver to all. Being a Husband and Father was the greatest talent (Comedian) Mike Armstrong had. He never tired of talking about his wife, whom he nicknamed “my beauty,” Petra, his daughter Michelle (Jay) Cox, his sons Christopher and Adam (Jesica) Armstrong, his bonus daughters, Kalissa (Kevin Moody) Stone and Kelsie (Christopher Rigsby) Stone, as well as “the true apples of his eyes,” his grandbabies, DeAmber, Emma, Olivia, Logan, Ethan and Ellie. There is no denying that Mike was incredibly proud of, and deeply loved his (surviving) siblings, brother Herbert (Michael Petter) Armstrong and sister, Lynn (Michael Ballard) Rizzo-Ballard. Bessie Mae and Johnny Wick are running around the home of Mike and Petra, wondering where Dad is with all their treats, two precious “babies” (dogs) that Mike took great pride in over-feeding and pampering, while thanking them for allowing him to sleep in “their bed.” Mike so loved his family that his greatest worry, should he pass before any of them, was the effect it would have on them, while they walk forward with a whole vault full of great memories of love and care he provided each of them with his whole life.

Mike lived a life full of so much love and laughter that the world is a whole lot quieter now. He will forever be missed and remembered.

It is Mike’s wishes that people attending his services wear his favorite colors, yellow or Kentucky Blue (because he was a real patriot #GoCats). Instead of flowers, please donate to Petra through this link by clicking Here: or by visiting WeAreTheArmstongs. Donations can also be made directly to Newcomers, in Mike’s name. All funds in the Armstrong home were depleted during Mike’s cancer battle and help is needed.
