Michael C. Steenbergen

Michael C. "Mike" Steenbergen, 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2017. He loved his job at Colgate where he proudly worked to provide for his family. Mike will always be remembered as a hard-working, caring, and loving family man.

Mike was born on September 27, 1950, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Gilbert C. and Virginia A. (Snelling) Steenbergen. Along with his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his son, Bradley S. Steenbergen; and his sisters, Lisa and Nonie Steenbergen. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rebecca A. "Becky" (Snider) Steenbergen; children, Brian Steenbergen and Brittany Steenbergen (David Eckert); and grandchildren, Bradley M. Steenbergen and Carlyee R. Eckert.

Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor W. Sherman Beville presiding. Cremation will follow according to Mike's wishes. Burial will follow at a later date at Eastern Cemetery.
