Michael "Shane" Sowders, 49, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
He was born on December 22, 1971 in Louisville, Kentucky. Shane is preceded in death by his father, James Michael Sowders. Shane served our country in the U.S Navy Seabees and was a long time member of Macedonia United Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing golf, disc golf, fishing and spending time with his family. Shane will always be remembered for his kindness, never meeting a stranger, great sense of humor and his big heart. In the last few months, you could find him at his lake cabin with the love of his life, Verda.
Shane is survived by his daughter, Delaney Shane (Kain) Sowders, grandson, Kade Loudenslager, fiancé, Verda Tudor, his mother, Beverly G. Sowders, brother, Ryan (Pam) Sowders, nieces, Jamie Sowders and Julie Sowders and nephew, JT Sowders. Along with his fur babies, Bourbon, Elsa and Cash.
A memorial gathering will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). A celebration of life will begin at 3:00 pm on Saturday, where everyone is invited to share memories, photos, food and refreshments.
