Michael Wayne Schellenberger, 63, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

Mike was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in exploring the beauty of nature. He loved hiking through the Appalachian Mountains and looked forward to spending time on the water, whether fishing or engaging in various water sports. His vibrant personality often shone through his choice of attire, frequently donning a tie-dye shirt that reflected his spirited approach to life. Additionally, he found pleasure in listening to live music and taking care of his yard, which was always meticulously kept, reflecting his love for the outdoors.

He was the son of Wayne Schellenberger and the late Carol (Wolfe) Eicher, born in New Albany on April 11, 1962. In addition to his father, Mike is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Nancy (Best) Schellenberger, and by his children, Dustin Wilson (Bethany) and Denim Kampschaefer (Eric). Mike was a proud Pop to Christian Wilson, Gavin Wilson, Swayde Anders, Finn Wilson, Eliza Wilson, and Keaton Kampschaefer. In addition to his immediate family, Mike is survived by his brother, Mark Schellenberger, and his sisters, Melissa Roberts (Jason) and Carol Aponte (Chris), as well as several nieces and nephews.

A gathering for family and friends will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. Contributions in Mike's memory may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
